I completed the fifth stage (three flights and two car rides) of the journey and am the Uhuru Lutheran Hotel in Moshi. The journey was interesting enough but I can't say that I enjoyed it. I read most of "A Song for Nagasaki", played some Texas hold 'em, watched two dumb movies, and slept for a few hours. I met a few people including a doctor from Seattle, a woman who might be a minister from Idaho, a group of organic farming interns from Denmark, some medical students from Miami of Ohio, and a couple from MN who are also here to help train people in organic farming principles.
I left home at 9 am on Friday and arrived at 11pm on Saturday. The time difference is 8 hours which makes me feel like it is about 4 pm. My plan is to attempt to sleep and then get up for breakfast and try to get to Mass. I don't have and shillings yet but the people at the hotel will probably help. The cathedral is 2-3 miles from here and I walked it last time.
At this point I am cut off from internet and have no idea when I'll have it again. Hopefully by Monday evening. I guess I won't know if the Packers have won for a few days.
I brought some gifts for friends Sam and Gabriel who work at the hotel. On Monday I'll be transferred to the site where I will be working. It is completely different returning for the second time because I know some of the people and the area. God picked me up at the airport and drove me to the hotel. His name is actually Godbless but he is called God. Gabriel was at the hotel desk and welcomed me warmly.
It is warm now (maybe 75) and I'm looking forward to seeing the summer tropical plants that are now in bloom. Hope things go well at the farm and the parish this weekend.
Warmly,
Reuben
